Taking inspiration from Canada’s Freedom Convoy, French truckers and protesters have taken to the streets of Paris to protest vaccine mandates in a convoy that has already come into conflict with French authorities.

The convoy made its way to Paris from southern France, but more convoys are anticipated to arrive in the capital from other parts of the country, the report noted.

It contains at least 359,000 members, according to a Facebook page dedicated to the convoy.

“We are just tired of it all. We want to go where we want without being asked for a vaccine pass. At least with this action, I am doing something,” Nicolas Bourrat, a truck driver, said.

Inspired by the movement across the Atlantic, many of the French protesters carry with them Canadian flags, according to the report.

The convoy has been met with stark opposition by authorities in France.

The Paris prefecture ruled that any and all protesters are to be barred from entering the city from Feb. 11-14, as doing so would risk public disorder, the report noted.
