A spy network affiliated with the Mossad was arrested in Iran on Thursday, according to a report by the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA).
The report claimed that the spy network consisted of five people from an Iranian separatist group that "has a history with the Zionist regime" and had been made promises including financial support from the Mossad to carry out its plans.
The Faraja Intelligence Organization stated that the spies were accused of gathering information, arson, writing slogans and propagating against the Islamic Republic.
Second arrest of spies
This is the second spy network that Iran claims to have arrested this week.
Another spy network was arrested on Sunday, according to Iranian state-owned Tasnim. It was reportedly collaborating with the People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran and planned to carry out "unprecedented acts of sabotage and terrorist operations."
On Wednesday, Iranian media claimed to reveal new information on the spies arrested on Sunday, saying that they entered Iran from Iraq's Kurdistan region.
The reports named Abdullah Mehtadi, who is the leader of of Iranian Kurdistan's Komala Party, as the leader of the spy group.
