Prince Charles is the latest major figure to test positive for the coronavirus.

The royal family announced that the 71-year-old had contracted the virus on Wednesday morning. In a statement, the family noted that Prince Charles presented some symptoms but was otherwise feeling well.

“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” the statement read.

His wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, was tested for the illness after his test came back positive, but she did not contract the virus. The two have been self-quarantining in Scotland and will remain there until the prince is well and the incubation period for the virus passes.

“It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks,” the statement said.

Prince Charles is the next person in line for the throne behind his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. The virus can be particularly dangerous for elderly people, making the prince a high-risk patient.

The United Kingdom was placed under lockdown by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday. As of Wednesday morning, the U.K. had more than 8,100 confirmed cases of the virus and 423 related deaths.
