President Trump expressed frustration Thursday with the Senate’s delay in advancing his Supreme Court nomination, telling lawmakers it was time to “get on with it.”

The president, speaking to Fox News in Las Vegas just before taking the stage for a political rally, said he believes Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, deserves a chance to be heard, but he said Republicans have been fair in delaying action and trying to give her a chance.

“They have to get on with it,” he said.

The committee vote was supposed to have been earlier Thursday, but the GOP put that off in order to set a hearing next week to give both Judge Kavanaugh and Ms. Blasey Ford a forum to speak.

Mr. Trump also urged lawmakers to pony up more money for his border wall, hours after he took to Twitter to complain about the “ridiculous” spending bill Congress just sent him to fund some government agencies.

The bill doesn’t cover homeland security money — that’s in a separate piece of legislation that’s stalled on Capitol Hill — yet Mr. Trump still griped that he didn’t see any border wall money in the unrelated bill.

Thursday night he said he’s been assured by GOP leaders that action is coming.

“I am told by Republican leadership … that they will do it immediately after the election,” he said.

The 2018 bill included $1.6 billion. The Senate’s 2019 bill calls for another $1.6 billion, while the House version would spend $5 billion.

That disagreement, as well as some other policy fights, have stymied progress on the homeland spending bill.
